Daily Bible Verse ~ John 10:27-30
John 10:27-30 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. (28) I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. (29) My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. (30) I and the Father are one.”
There is nothing more reassuring than knowing we are loved by God and safe in His hands. There are many movements in the Christian faith that lead people into thinking that they need to continually be in “right standing” with God in order to be saved. Nothing could be further from the truth. That’s not to say that the Christian is not to be obedient to the commands of Christ. Rather, that we are saved by grace through faith in Christ alone and not of our own works. Then, through His grace, we are able to follow after Christ in obedience.
Jesus says that His sheep respond to His voice. He says we will know and follow Him. In addition, not one will perish or be removed from the hand of Christ. Paul says it like this in the book of Romans:
Rom 8:29-31 For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. (30) And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified. (31) What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
Our salvation is something that was predestined beforehand. God predestined every believer, called them, justified them, and this verse shows past tense “glorified” them. Our future glorification is something that has already occurred before the foundation of the world. Just as the names of those who are in the book of life (Rev 3:5) has been established, so too are the names that are not.
Rev 17:8 The beast that you saw was, and is not, and is about to rise from the bottomless pit and go to destruction. And the dwellers on earth whose names have not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world will marvel to see the beast, because it was and is not and is to come.
When we respond to the voice of Christ we can be certain that the same power that draws us will keep us. It is a work of the Holy Spirit and we are not to fear that we will ever fall from His grace.

Apply It:
Are you walking in the full assurance that Christ is Lord in your life? Do you fear you’ll lose your salvation? If so, do these verses bring comfort in knowing that God will never leave you?
Prayer:
Lord, help me to walk in full assurance that the work you began in me will be completed in the end. I trust my faith in you alone and ask you to help me to walk in obedience to your Word. Amen…
